A Bit About Larryhead

Larryhead is the online portfolio of web designer Adam Falat.

I have been developing websites and creating online media since 1996. As someone with a strong artistic eye and a diverse technical background (plus a Computer Science degree!), I enjoy using cool new web technologies to produce creative websites for people like you!

Why I Started Larryhead Web Design

I currently work for a large media company in Chicago, which is great fun. However, it seems like I'm constantly meeting nice folks who would like their own website, but have no idea where to start. I knew I could help these people out and decided to offer a freelance web design service in the Chicago area.

Today, you absolutely need a great website, and I'm here to help!

What I Can Do for You

Whether you already have a website or are thinking about building a new one, I can help you realize your online goals. My specialty is designing websites for small businesses and personal users. Some of the services I offer are designing website mock-ups, HTML and CSS webpages, creating custom graphics and logos, third-party script installation and customization, and search engine optimization. What to Expect

To get started, just fill out some basic details on the contact page. I'll review your info and consult with you if I need more information to provide you with a free quote. Once you've accepted my quote, here is how the workflow typically breaks down:

1. Pre-Production (~ 1 week)
   • Payment: 50% deposit required to start
   • I will help you choose a webhost and register your domain name (if needed)
   • I will design a mock-up of your website for your review
   • You will get up to three (3) revisions before finalizing the design
   • If for any reason you are not satisfied with the mock-up and wish to cancel, I will refund half of your deposit
2. Production (~ 1-2 week)
   • I will start building your website in XHTML 1.0 code based on the final mock-up
   • I will contact you for any additional collateral (pictures and text) if needed
   • You will have an opportunity to review the website before final sign-off
3. Launch
   • Following final sign-off of website, we'll launch your new website to the world
   • Payment: remaining balance due within 14 days after launch date
4. Post-Production
   • Following site launch and final payment, any additional site changes will be quoted & billed separately
   • If you think you'll need ongoing maintenance or frequent site updates, you may hire me as your "webmaster" for a small annual fee. Let me know and we can set-up a separate Maintenance contract for this service.
   • Any updates that will require over three (>3) hours of work, will need to be quoted and billed separately and are not covered by the Maintenance contract

Where Did the Name Larryhead Come From?

I needed a username one day in college, and I was trying to think of something fun and unique. For whatever reason, the name Larryhead stuck.

Other Random Tidbits About Me

I like to play guitar and create music on the computer. I enjoy going out for sushi, and would eat it every day if I could. My current favorite beer is probably Blue Moon (with an orange). I enjoy reading books in my spare time, and have a cool kitty that likes to sit on me, usually while I'm trying to read.
